420 miles from Salt Lake City to West Yellowstone
Registration open until February 1st — Screwed or Crewed options
More than a race — this is a reckoning. The Salt & Sulfur 420 is a 420-mile Journey Run from Salt Lake City to West Yellowstone, carving a line through canyons, deserts, mountain valleys, and the edge of the wilderness. The run will start on August 5, 2026 7:25 AM and end on August 17, 2026 at 7:25 AM. Not all applicants will be accepted. Be creative and honest in your application.
This is not for everyone. You’ll face long stretches without service, gaps as wide as 45 miles between towns, and roads where shoulders disappear. You may have to filter water from streams, stare down wildlife, and contend with cars, heat, cold, storms, and exhaustion. You must be confident in your ability to self-rescue.
All proceeds go to charity. This year will be Geraldine E. King Women's Resource Center.
You may notice to run crewed costs more than screwed. This is to encourage self-sufficiency and to stay aligned with the spirit of S&S. Whether you choose screwed or crewed, there will be no easy miles.
If you’re chasing a buckle, a medal, or a finisher’s shirt… this isn’t your race.
